Recognizing Outstanding Achievement
Phi Mu Foundation recognizes outstanding academic achievement through programs, such as an award for members who achieve above a 3.75 for a semester, and provides over $100,000 in scholarships each year for undergraduate and graduate members who excel academically.
Letter from the Academic Excellence Chair
My name is Grace Ridgway, and I am honored to serve as the 2025 Academic Excellence Chairwoman for the Alpha Eta Chapter. Academics are one of our top priorities in Phi Mu, and I love having the opportunity to support my sisters in their scholarship and career aspirations. Both inside and outside of the classroom, our chapter encourages members to pursue the best version of themselves. As Academic Chairwoman, I have the unique ability to provide resources and scholarship opportunities to my sisters that help them not only during their time in Phi Mu, but in the years to follow.
Along with the Academic Committee, I organize weekly study nights that transform our bustling home into a studious space. I also oversee major-specific groups within Phi Mu and educate members about pre-professional clubs and their benefits. It is my responsibility to inform chapter members of various scholarship opportunities, connect members to academic resources and tutors if needed, keep scholarship records and academic accountability plans, and culminate grade reports for our national headquarters, too. My favorite part of this position, though, is recognizing my sisters for their academic achievements. Each week, one member is highlighted for earning an A on an exam, paper, or project and is rewarded with a gift card. Additionally, chapter members who earned a 3.75-4.0+ GPA are given academic rewards each semester to acknowledge their hard work!
Our diligence and determination as a chapter is reflected in the academic accomplishments we continue to earn. This fall semester, the Alpha Eta Chapter was named the Panhellenic chapter with the highest GPA down the row for the second consecutive semester with an average of 3.575! 85 members earned a 4.0+ GPA, and 82 members earned a 3.75+ GPA. We are so proud of each and every one of our members and their determination as scholars, leaders, and women!
LIOB,
