Philanthropy

Phi Mu’s national philanthropy is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. As the only sorority corporate sponsor, we are committed to raising over $500,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals every year. The money raised and donated by our collegiate chapters is used locally to support one of the 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide. In total, Phi Mu has contributed over eight million dollars, and countless hours, improving the quality of life for children throughout the country.

Thanks to Alpha Eta’s main philanthropy fundraising events, our chapter was able to present a check for $107,398.80 to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital in Baton Rouge. Phi Mu members look forward to visiting with the children at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital every month and volunteer annually at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital’s Radiothon.

Fall in Love With Phi Mu

This Fall, Phi Mu held it’s first Fall in Love With Phi Mu fundraiser! The event featured pop-up shops from a number of different boutiques and shops. Active members, alumnae and community members all got involved in this event to raise money for CMNH and make a difference for the kids! (FTK)

Bonnamu Down the Bayou With SAE

This Spring, Phi Mu Alpha Eta also hosted a new philanthropy event: Bonnamu Down the Bayou with SAE. Phi Mu partnered with Sigma Alpha Epsilon, since both chapters support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The music festival-themed event took place on the parade grounds at LSU’s campus, where crawfish and sno balls were served. Our members recruited two-member teams to compete in a corn hole competition that took place during the event. In addition to this, prize drawings were selected at the end of the event.

Members invited their friends and family to enjoy a Sunday in spring all while raising money for the kids! Bonnamu raised over $34,000 all proceeding Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, specifically going to Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. Phi Mu and SAE could not have done this without the help of family, friends, sponsors, and vendors! A huge thanks goes to all those that made this event possible.
